INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration has launched a website to give Hoosiers free mental health resources. Governor Eric Holcomb’s office says the site is designed to help with increased anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The state says BeWellIndiana.org provides resources curated by the FSSA’s Division of Mental Health and Addiction. It includes information on crisis counseling, self-monitoring for signs of stress, domestic violence resources, and substance use disorder and recovery, among others.

The site also includes resources for Hoosiers looking for help with insurance, unemployment, child care and food insecurity.

“We are proud to connect Hoosiers with the mental health resources to help them be well and stay well,” said Dr. Jennifer Sullivan, secretary of the FSSA. “We acknowledge how the fear and anxiety about the coronavirus can be overwhelming and trigger strong emotions and reactions in adults and children. Our hope is to help Hoosiers cope with that stress so that they can be better for themselves, their families and their community.”

Holcomb’s office says the site will initially focus on mental health issues from the pandemic but will evolve as a resource after the crisis ends.
